Cinevate Flip Module

The Cinevate flip module is in the CAD, prototyping stage. It will be available only as a seperate module so existing users need not worry about having an obsolete adapter. Expect this module by late April.

Hi Dennis...is the late April timeline still on target? After playing for the first time this past weekend, I had a much harder time than I expected with the reversed/inversed image.

Dennis, this is going to be a godsend. I think everybody who worked with 35mm adapters long enough will agree that it´s a pain in the ass to deal with the inverted image. I have some doubts though.

1- How much more light loss would we be talking about?
2- Do you know more or less the price this upgrade would cost?
3- Would we have to send the brevis back to you for the modifications?

Rafael, the module is designed to work with or without your existing adapter...or any other adapters for that matter. That means if max light efficiency is an issue...you'll have the option to just remove it! We're modeling about 1 stop loss due to the flip.

Sadly no, but what's ever on time here :-)

The project is well under way so I hope to be reporting in here soon with pics etc. of the first 8 units being built right now :-)

Once I have some solid dates, we'll definitely set up a beta program. We wont' do pre-orders this time around as I'd prefer to have them in-hand before taking any orders. Everyone will be happier that way.

No previews yet....but I can tell you that the first 8 units will not have the final enclosure design. We're working on getting optics perfect first.

I'm very excited about this. After spending last weekend shooting handheld at a family get-together (had to take a stripped-down gear selection), I really want a flipper. It took me twice as long to frame stuff because of the x-y axes being opposite. And years of playing video games with a similar style were of apparently little use.

Dennis, any update you can give us? I don't know about others, but I am not going to use the Brevis setup in a pro situation until the picture is right-side-up. I'm really looking forward to using it, so please let us know!

yes please updates. i too am waiting for the flip as the upside down footage is just a pain to use. we have another competing brand that i won't mention, but it has a built in flip and we are continuing to use it until we get a brevis flip. we like the brevis 35 a lot more, but really, really, really want a flip module.
