What's the latest guess on the ship date of the Cinevate Follow Focus?

Jon, did you write something. It looks like you did but the font is too small.

But yes, what is the status? The DC 48 HFP is May 2-4. I'll cringe if I have to rent one again.

Thanks Dennis.

Does anyone know if this sucker will have a reverse option for all those sheepish nikon renters?

Jon wrote "outlook is uncertain" upside down in very small font. which is too bad, i thought that the FF was cinevates FIRST priority after the flip shipped, but now it seems it's the dolly. i for one want the ff far more than the dolly, i'm sure most of us do. not that the dolly isn't totally sweet and all, but we have been teased with "oh so close" for far too long.

Jon, nice, very nice.

Haha, regardless of date, the humor was definitely good news.

Well, whenever it comes, I look forward to it.

Please don't hesitate to keep us updated, even if it's bad news.

yeah, agreed. Somebody tested the prototype over 6 months ago and posted about it. The Dolly is a nice toy, but I bought the Brevis in order to use 35mm lenses. I don't need a dolly to operate the Brevis. But I do need a FF to operate the lenses used with the Brevis. Of course there are many many FF systems out there. I was hoping to wait for the best (Dan your ring gears are beautiful), but I can't wait forever.

Also, I looked at Dan's FF gears today on the products page and noticed that the price has increased from $112 to $116 compared to two days ago. Is that currency fluctuation or is Cinevate raising the prices?

Dennis are going to offer bundles of ring gears and FF when it does come out? (I need 12 rings for my lens kit). Cheers

That was posted by Dennis August 29, 2007. Over 6 months ago.

Michael, now that the flip project and dolly are in full production, the follow focus has shifted to the forefront. I won't frustrate anyone with due dates but I can confirm that another fix prototype will be here next week. This one incorporates the internal gear set we've been shooting for. IF it tests OK, i'll have a date for you.

Any idea on what the estimated price on the follow focus would be when it finally ships? At least a range?

Dennis has previously stated that there will be bundled packages with the gear rings and suggested around $500 for the FF and $700 for the FF + 5 rings. I am personally hoping for a 12-ring bundle, but that's because I havea large lens kit and don't want to change rings in the field. It would be great if I could get FF + 12 for under $1,000.

That said, the price of aluminum is going through the roof (and will continue to do so for the next 10 years - thank you China and India) s o who knows if Dennis can keep his prices down.

Hoping for good news soon on both price and availability.

Pricing hasn't changed at all, so Michael is 100% correct.

No date yet? Need to buy a FF soon, and reallt like to support Cinevate. The other one I was thinking of is the redrock micro FF.

I was hoping to get the Cinevate FF and the RR Micro Mattebox, but ended up ordering the RR Micro FF and the Cinevate Mattebox instead, because they are available now. It'll work.

At the end of April, Hubert told me that the final prototype had been approved by Dennis and was off for production. He said that it would be about 3 weeks before they came back. Its been 4 weeks. Any word yet?
