World class follow focus unit

Expect a world class follow focus unit, designed by a master, manufactured under licence in short order.

Steve, you must be good at Jeopardy.

No idea of price...but if all goes well (and it's too early to say today) we will have a world class FF at a world class price.

Will this improve ease of focuspulling for lenses with short focusing distance, ie lenses from slr-cameras where focusing is only half or quarter of a turn on the dial and not a full 360 turn?

Would like to be able to use my canon-lenses but the focusing on one is what I am worried about.

I see this as the biggest problem when selecting a slr-camera lens instead of a movie picture lens. The advantage is of course the much smaller price of say a canon eos lens instead of a zeiss pl lens.

Jonas, the ff unit will include gears for attaching to your existing SLR focus ring. We're working on the mattebox, ff unit and adapter flip unit for release in the next few months.

So.... let's see...
How many among the readers own a FF? (any brand)
How many are prepared to support the manufacturing of a good FF?
The (best) focus gears are still available.
I want to see some hands.....

Dennis, a PM or a phone call could get something going.

OK, that's a good start, but not enough.
I would guess you would also need some focus gears, right?
Why not get the gears now (while I still have them) and reserve this way a place in line for the FF? Should we rather start a new thread for them? How is it "growing" Greg?
