DVX100 Tests

I usually set my zebras to 90% and when they start to show up I stop down a bit ensuring no blowouts.
Do you have a link to the macros you think we should be using?
I think you should do all your tests on the best you can get to show the potential of the adapter.

When the Brevis arrives, I think I'll feel like I got a toy for Christmas, but my mom forgot to buy batteries. These macro tests are really disappointing. Without the achromat, my new toy won't truely work. Hey, at least we'll all get a lot of practice rack focusing in the mean time.

I just got some cheapo macro filters, and did some tests using the form Dennis gave us. I was able to get a good focus with a +5 macro.

Thats great Brandon. I've spec'd +6 on the acromat to give a bit more flexiblity with slow lenses. A +6 will allow you to zoom in a bit more.

The DVX is easy, as it uses a 4:3 footprint. The 16:9 (native) cams need a bit more zoom in for proper framing.

If you put an F2.8 zoom on there, and then stop it down a bit, you'll get a bit of vignette on the edges that must be zoomed through. That's with a Minolta MD.

Yesterday I tried the test again with some cheap macros and I managed to zoom just enough (I used a +1, +2 and +4 put together) but I cannot be sure because, since I the macros were 37mm, I had to hold them in front of the FX1s' lens

The +6 will likely work fine for the FX1. As you add macros, you also increase distance from the target...so one ring in an achromat will bring it closer.
